Root owns my CD-RW's after re-inst. - can't burn

This is massively enlightening.  I think I've just got to the bottom of
all my CD burning problems.  Can't wait to get home to prove it!

If your problems actually are the same as mine, one solution is to
install xcdroast and use that as your burning app.  You have to run it
as root, though, and that's a problem if you have CD burners who are
also sudoers.
