Website design : what to use ?

Hmm.. I see your point and actually share your need.

While waiting for the perfect 'silver bullet' to arrive (for me, on the
OS X) I did the following: http://www.sci.fi/~abisoft/lumikki/ It's a
combination of Lua scripting language (http://www.lua.org) with HTML
creation.

I know, i know.. It's not graphical (wysiwyg), and not even intending
to be. But the ImageMagick integration (http://www.imagemagick.org)
allows you to craft & modify images on the run, which imho is very,
very powerful feature. Things like cropping, resize etc. can be done
without affecting your originals in any way. Also format conversions.

Well, have a look, judge for yourself. Making your site with Lumikki
wouldn't be hard, but you maybe need to change your working habits.
