harddisk install/boot from floppy

Hi
Is it possible to install from the harddisk booting from a
floppy?
My notebook cdrom is broken. Network install (PXE) did not work.
When it gets to the partitioning part, the installer doesn't
detect any harddisk or partiton. I know that with harddisk
install I might get the same problem but it's worth a try.
