Partition Question

The next time I re-install Ubuntu and I create a /home partition, will 
Ubuntu then pick up this partition each time I have to do a re-install 
(I tend to break my home systems) and then pick all my profile settings 
like what screensavers I have selected, wallpapers, themes, etc?
