right click on the files icon select properties, in the *Properties*
window that appears you select the *Open With* tab. If you don't see
the program listed that you want to use then you click the *Add* button
in the bottom right corner of this window - this will open the *Add
Application* window - this is where you would type the name of the
program you want to use *xine* and then click add in bottom right.
