Eric,
I found some of your remarks amusing, as I'm used to linux GUI
interfaces and recently bought an iBook G4 Mac... At first I found the
OS-X Acqua interface extremely unintuitive: the metaphors are just
different, and take some time to understand. Most of the difficulties
with the GUI I would say boil down to people being unimpressed simply
because it is *not* what they are accustomed to.
I'm quite happy now booting into Ubuntu and using Mac-on-Linux when I
have to .... Which is to say, hardly ever.
