gftp is my favourite by far--it allows bookmarking and remembers password. Other than that, it's simple and straightforward. Krusader is also a nice ftp client if you need a gui. It's dependent on a few KDE/QT libraries if space is an issue. either can simply be installed with Synaptic/apt. -- landotter
