Newbie help

That sounds like a good idea.  I've been a DOS/Win user since the 286,
but trying to move to Linux has really taken away that Microsoft safety
blanket as there are so many things I don't know how to do with Linux!
There is a huge amount of help already available online but wading
though it takes forever to answer even a simple question.  Ubuntu seems
to be trying to cater for the enthusiastic beginner as well as the
enthusiast and their website is a good start but a real beginners guide
would be useful.
