Hoary Array 5- vmware with 2.6.11-1-686-smp - unknown symbol

The following error occours with kernel 2.6.11-1-686-smp and
vmware-install.pl(see -1 Unknown symbol in module):

There is probably a slight difference in the kernel configuration between the
set of C header files you specified and your running kernel.  You may want to
rebuild a kernel based on that directory, or specify another directory.

I try the same with the  2.6.10-4-686-smp and it works fine. Any tipps, what can
i try to fix this problem with 2.6.11?
