no keyboard, no touchpad... again

Hi,
After an upgrading to linux-image-2.6.10-4-686, something goes wrong.
When the gnome panel finish starting, nor the keyboard nor the touchpad
seem to work. I have to poweroff the machine and run with the other
kernel: linux-image-2.6.10-3-686.
It is the second time that after an upgrading of the kernel, everything
freezes. The funny thing is that it works smoothly just until all gnome
has loaded. On the gdm, the cursor follows the touchpad, and my keyboard
works.
What am I doing wrong?
