How do I reset Evolution?

I've had a stormy relationship with Evolution since installing Warty
some months ago. Now that I'm trying Hoary, I'd like to give the
miscreant another try. I use gmail, so all I really need from
Evolution is a place to put my schedule and contacts from my Palm. My
problem is that after multiple wrestling sessions, my evolution
settings are extremely screwed up. I tried deleting ~/.evolution, but
the data is still there when I open the application again. And then
when I try to sync, Evolution throws fits (in the form of about 20
error dialogs) about missing directories and such. How do I start
again -- no palm settings, no data, etc. -- and end up back at the
beginning, where I have to tell Evolution what email account to use?
