(Warty)DSL router/modem question

Hi, I've got a Belkin 54g DSL modem / router via which I connect to the 
'net.

The odd thing is when I was running FC3 during boot up when it got to 
the bit where it set the system clock via the ntp server it would make 
an active Internet connection. Warty does not do this. To make a 
connection I have to use a web browser to access the router manualy and 
turn on the 'net. Anyone know how I can fix this so the net connection 
is made during system boot up, like on FC3??
