Is there a repository with new cairo/gtk so we can play

xcb depends on check to build 
seems to be not available in any ubuntu repository.
but a debian package can be found on their site:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=28255&package_id=20116
couldn't we add it to universe?
