DVD file permissions

Hi, nice to meet you all...
I've been getting to grips with Ubuntu for about a week. Things
have been going pretty nicely, Japanese text input sorted, MPlayer
sorted. (I can't seem to print from the Gimp and there's no driver for
my scanner though, so I won't be removing the Windows partition anytime
soon.) Anyway, today's problem has been driving me up the wall so I
thought I'd throw it to the list!
I can mount a CD-ROM and access the files as normal user with no
problem however if I mount a data DVD only root can access the files.
(Mounting a video DVD works without a hitch, by the way, so I guess
it's something to do with the filesystem on the data DVD, which was
made as a backup in Windows.)
This is the line from /etc/fstab I'm currently using:
/dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom udf,iso9660 ro,users,umask=0222,noauto 0 0
The umask=0222 works fine for mounting an ntfs partition so I thought
I'd try it for the DVD. I've also tried playing around with some of the
other options listed in man mount without success.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Nick
