I would like to "fine tune" Gnome's "Simple" theme.
I found it in /usr/share/themes/Simple
I played with the Metacity XML file that controls window borders, but I
would like to modifiy the Gtk theme.
The gtkrc file is some explanatory to some extent, so experimented a
bit, but I am still kinda shooting in the dark
Is there documentation out there, on how to modify a gtkrc file ? That
is, the structure if the file, what are all the things you can modify,
all the options and valid parameters, what they do exactly, so that I
can make exactly what I want ?
Then, is there some user friendly GUI program that makes it easy to
modify a gtkrc file ?
And where can I get the normal "show desktop" icon ? The one in Ubuntu
is not the same as the one you can see in Gnome official preview :
http://www.gnome.org/start/2.8/notes/rnwhatsnew.html
I like the "Simple" theme, and also "Glider". But both have little
things that annoy me, so I keep switching back and forth between the two
every few weeks. So I would like to spend some time to make them
perfect, so that I can be really happy with either of them, and stop
changing themes all the time.
On a related note, does anyone know how to turn the "prelight" feature
OFF, and also the "tootips", and also the ridiculous window animation
you get when you minimize a window ?
All these things give me headaches... :-/
Regards,
Vince
