ATI Radeon fglrx driver (hoary)

Dear Friends,

For what it is worth, since the driver works for me in plain old sarge
merely by renaiming the file, but not in ubuntu, generating the fglrx
config file and renaming it xorg.conf creates the same error as simply
copying/pasting the device section, to wit, it finds no screen.

Laptops can be tricky, but this should not be an issue. I am using hte
686 smp kernel,  and ati agpart.  

Any ideas?
