Hi,

I was wondering if Mono runtime will be part of
Ubuntu's next version. Having Mono
(www.mono-project.com) integrated in Ubuntu has the
following benefits:

1. There are many cool Mono based applications such as
beagle and iFolder. So Installing such applications is
a breeze if Mono already integrated with Ubuntu.

2. It would attract .NET developers as most of them
usually come from Windows world (Linux newbie) and the
most classic trouble they face is usually Mono
installation in Linux. Mono integration in Ubuntu will
make them look into Ubuntu for Mono platform
development.
The next benefit is that Ubuntu would be used as the
platform for running Mono application. The integration
of Mono would make the developer's life easy to
distribute their Mono application as they needn't to
install Mono on each Machine.

3. Having Mono, IronPhyton (and Java?) will make
Ubuntu shines

Regards,

Setyawan
