Grub problem

I had the a similar problem (same MB as well).  In my case, GRUB was 
installing on the first sector of the SATA drive, but the system was 
attempting to boot from the hd0 drive.  I had to rearrange the order of 
my boot disks in the BIOS so that the SATA always booted first
