Newbie trying to see VDC and DVD with Totem.

as far as i remember its safe to remove ubuntu-desktop.
i had totem-xine in warty up and running and had no problems removing
ubuntu-desktop. BUT if youre going to upgrad to hoary one day, you
should install it again.
