Loading Maxima

I just downloaded maxima-5.9.1-1.i386.rpm from the source forge site. 
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=4933&package_id=4960&release_id=270236

Is this the right download for Ubuntu? 

If not, what is?

In either case what do I do next. (I will take a pointer to the proper
documentation because I am so new I don't know where to look.)
