Nvidia-glx Won't Work on Hoary

Ok all.

I upgraded to Hoary.

I can live with the butt-ugly mouse pointer if I have to.

But no matter what I try to do, I cannot get Nvidia to work.

It was working perfectly under Xfree and the 2.6.8 kernel.

I tried the way described in the Ubuntu Wiki and I tried using the
Nvidia driver (rebuilt using 2.6.10 sources). I commented out dri in the
xorg.config file (glcore wasn't in there, so no need to comment it out)
and I changed the driver name to nvidia.

What do I have to do to make the darned thing work? I have no
first-born-male-children....
