Trying to download and install Wine - Newbie

I have been trying to download Wine through Synaptic but not having any
success.  I am following the suggestions for installation at the above
site but failing to get far.  I've used both binary/ and source/ and the
search but I must be missing something. (An error message appears too
that says "Could download all repository indexes".

What am I doing wrong
