I'm going to do the switch tonight. I think it's essential to back up
all your data. After switching to Hoary I'll back up at least twice a
day. I have my home folder in a separate partition, so if anything goes
wrong I'll propably be fine by just installing Warty again and mounting
the home folder - Evolution and Firefox should be as I left them. But
I'll back up to CD-RWs - just in case.

BTW, have you tried the Hoary live CD yet? A different version of X is
used in Hoary and there are other changes too that might cause problems
(I don't know much about this, it's just what I have read). Trying with
live CD might give an early warning of possible problems. In that case
you might want to reconsider and perhaps do what Vince suggested here
earlier today - buy a cheap, used, smallish hard disk to experiment with
Hoary and to tell you when Hoary is stable enough for you (it's good to
remember though that things might get broken later too, but I guess the
propability of brekage gets smaller all the time).
