taskbar/windows list space usage

Hello

In Hoary, is there any reason why the windows list in the taskbar
doesn't expand to the full size of the bar? All my windows will cram
into only 1/8th of the bar...I cant even see my windows title in there
if I have more than 3 windows opened.

Any ideas why? Is it normal? Can change this behavior?
