VMware on Ubuntu?

I too need Wmware, but the first time I tried to install it (the demo
binaries), it asked me loads of question with most of them making little
or no sense at all, as far as I can remembeR. Also, I tried to install
it in my home folder, and I think that may not have been the best
solution. I am right now trying to remove it to try to install it
in /usr this time, but it seems there are files all over the place in
the system, it's very dirty/messy.

So it would be soooo generous of you (or anyone else in the know), if
you could write a step by step procedure to install it. Where to
uncompress the tar.gz ? How to answer all the questions we are asked
during the install ? Basically a "WMware for dummies guide.
Many people need WMware to run some windows programs, but very few
people are actually capable of installing WMware....frustrating ! :-/

I guess the existing Wiki page on Ubuntu would be the ideal place for
that ? If not, let's make a new page ! :-)
