Nvidia 6111

[Anubis]

I'm having the same problem with Hoary and a GeForce needing 6111
drivers.

I have been told by the folks over @ #nvidia on IRC, Freenode, that the
6111 drivers don't work with the 2.6.10 kernel, and the 2.6.10 kernel
does not work with the NVIDIA 66.29.

So it seems the only way to solve this is to go back to 2.6.8 and 6111
for my video card. However, Synaptic will not allow this.

I get an error when trying to select certain apps in synaptic.

kernel-image-2.6-k7:
Depends: kernel-image-2.6.8-2-k7  but it is not installable

I get an error like that for old all non custom mplayer apps as well.

How can I resolve these problems please? ](*,)
