Why orinoco driver for pcmcia card with prism 2.5 chip?

I'm realy stuck because i'm a thicko. I'm on the verge of returning to
windoze and netstumbler

I have a truemobile 1150 and ubuntu.
I need to get Kismet to work
first i need to ge the card to work in monitor mode.
Apparently the latest driver doesn't need a pitch to put the card into
monitor mode. this is where i get the driver from

I have downloaded the driver to my desktop and unziped it but i'm stuck
after that.
Do i have to do something with make install or something.
I have surfed for hours but maybe it's too simple to have a tutorial.
