Cant find Memory stick - newbie(LWR)

Please try the following:
* Leave the memory stick unplugged while booting
* Log in into Gnome normally
* put the stick in
* wait a few seconds
   normaly usb-sticks are autodetected and a window of nautilus opens
* if nothing happens, open a terminal, type dmesg and please report the
   last few lines back to the list...
