And old problem: Realtek 8180 installation

After trying Ubuntu for several months, I decided to download the i386 version for an old laptop I own. My only beef is the seting up of the wireless device; a Realtek 8180 based card.

Ubuntu recognizes the card, but will not install the module for it. I do have an alleged Linux native driver, but I have no idea what to modify on the .h and make files. And for sure would like to avoid ndiswrapper or Linuxant.

Some help would be appreciated.

PS: If ndiswraper or Linuxant is what I need, then I'll learn fast. I would love to take this laptop on the road.
