Hey, OMG i have the xact same problem.
I have a sata hard disk, and a ide cdrom. I have tried every bios
configuration for the combining of the IDE and SATA drive
- Combined mode (SATA apears as PATA channel 0)
- Enhanced (SATA appears as Pata channel 2)
It fails/stals at loading the ide module
I even went and bought a sata to PATA adapter and put it on the CDROM
so I could set the SATA mode in the bios to legacy (so they appear as
PATA channel0 drives) and no luck
This time it locked hard at loading the scsi module? I think it was
scsi module anyway.
In the first two cases I quit the installer into the shell and have a
look at /dev/ ther is /dev/scsi0/bus0/disc0/lun0 and this contains the
5 or so partitions on my HDD. I cant mount any of them (Invalid
argument error, or no error message at all)
I already have suse installed on my box and toyed with the idea of
ripping the iso to disk, mounting it and installing from there, but no
luck!
Anyone know how I can get UBUNTU to install? is the network install
working?
