No need to despair ;-)
MOSX is one of those old-fashioned operating systems that set the
on-board clock to
local time. Your profesional Linux system sets it to Universal Time (UTC).
The easiest (but not the most elegant) solution is to tell your Linux
that the clock
returns local time :-/
I've not enough time to elaborate but a quick glance at the manpage for
'hwclock' should
be enough (hint: look at /etc/adjtime
