Same for me. I tried changing it using "update-alternatives --config
x-cursor-theme", but to no avail. Which reminds me that some time ago
(IIRC when I upgraded to Gnome 2.8 on Sarge) I got the new cursor theme
(with the spinning disc as a busy cursor) as a bonus, but never
understood where it came from, since it is not one of the alternatives
in Debian's system, and it's neither in Gnome's mouse control panel.
