Mac newbie unable to boot Hoary LiveCD / PPC

Hi, I'm no mac expert.  But what you need to do is stick it into your
mac with the computer on, restart the computer and hold the "c" key to
tell it to boot by cd.  that should do It I think.    If your mac
ejects the cd on restart, someone else will have to chime in to help.
