Do you still have your warty instell disk?
Just install it then if I remember correctly change everything in the
repository from warty to hoary then,
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade.

I believe thats how it was done.
I too installed from a hoary array and had some problems. While
chatting on #ubuntu about the problems I was told this was the easiest
way to get hoary!
