Con figuring a pptp VPN on ubuntu

Hi all

I need to add a couple of VPN connections to my laptop running ubuntu.  
Can anyone help with the set up of this?

I am new to ubuntu and an enthusiastic amatuer to linux so if you could 
make it as clear as possible, it will certainly help.
