msttcorefonts problem

Hi all,
tried to install msttcorefonts with Synaptic, failed to install
properly, now everything I install ends up going to sourceforge,
and trying to re-install msttcorefonts, which do not install properly
when installed application is being configured.
.
Can't remove what I already have, any ideas on what I can do to get rid of
this problem.?
