Dual Boot Problem

Good Luck on this one fellas!  I was running dual-boot XP Pro and Ubuntu, and they both constantly fought for control of the system board and CPU.  Ubuntu finally won!  My computer cannot run a Windows program at all!  The binaries from Ubuntu are different enough, plus the Debian format, that it took control of my system and locked Windows out completely.  My processor won't even recognize the Windows program!  I converted my PC to Ubuntu, and didn't look back.  But now, I have to build a new system with Windows on it!  I thought I had Windows up and running again, but when I tried to make a backup/restore with Ghost, when it rebooted, it said:  "Your operating system is missing!"  I'm glad I had my Ubuntu disc handy!

/boot/grub/menu.lst normally has 1 example for booting MS-Windows

if you know what partition your MS-Windows was using it's not so hard
to make a new entry and run "sudo update-grub" in a terminal

(0,0) = first disc, first partition
(1,1) = second disc, second partition
so, /dev/hda3 == (0,2) in grub etc.
