You are right - but they also write:
"You will have to wait until Gizmo uses ALSA or buy a soundcard that has a
hardware mixer. If you are not patient I think that most SoundBlasters
have hardware mixing and are not expensive."

I have found a very outdated soundcard - and it works just fine while the
original sound card onboard - the new one did not work at all. I do not
know if I lose som funchtionality using the old compared with the new one?
