you have to know that there is a huge difference between knowing the
database and  knowing sql. If you want to work on the theory of
databases and the structure of your companys database, or even set it
up you need to know more theoretical stuff and dont need sql at all.
its just a language.



if you just want to get data from your database learning the sql syntax
is plenty.
