Samba bug

I managed to use samba to connect to my other windows xp computer. When
I saw my shares from the xp box I opened one of them which was supposed
to contain some video files. To my surprise it contained those video
files and my entire home folder!

Now, after running the network setup on windows again, I can't access my
shares from the xp box again. Oh well...

Accessing the xp box from the ubuntu one never worked. Nor accessing the
ubuntu box from the xp box but while running from the ubuntu livecd.
Samba usernames were set.

Is samba badly broken in ubuntu or what?
