breezy generates email

I've posted seperately about either me or Breezy borking my postfix 
install. However, when I managed to hack it to work again, breezy sent 4 
queued emails that it had generated internally. Three were from cron - the 
other was from Debconf.

By any standards, that means that Breezy depends on an MTA. Shouldn't that 
be the end of the discussion?

Please, Please.. .where are the ubuntu personel on this topic. Not much 
point in users discussing it if the gods of ubuntu are ignoring us. 

My personal opinion (not humble): There should be an MTA.. I can't for the 
life of me see a downside.
