Most people on the planet don't and won't have internet, but they can
have access to a second-hand computer, so that is not necessarily true
and there is no reason to suspect that it will remain true, but email
can be delivered locally too, so it doesn't matter anyway.

Unfortunately, whilst those computers could easily run an MTA, etc, they
can't run Gnome because it's a heap of steaming poo, unfortunately I
can't abide the feel of KDE, so I use Gnome and keep buying
supercomputers (which is costing me a lot of money, by the way) - I'm up
to 1.8GHz, 512 MB RAM and a noisy CPU fan now.
