Just one doubt: why do you mention an RPM? Breezy has all the needed
fglrx packages indeb format:

$ dpkg -l | grep fgl
ii  fglrx-control                            8.16.20-0ubuntu16.1 Control
panel for the ATI graphics accelerat
ii  xorg-driver-fglrx                     6.8.0-8.16.20-0ubuntu16.1
Video driver for ATI graphics accelerators
ii  xorg-driver-fglrx-dev              6.8.0-8.16.20-0ubuntu16.1 Video
driver for ATI graphics accelerators

You load the "fglrx" driver in xorg.conf. Maybe the deb package doesn't
exist for x64?
