I've not done it yet (laziness I suppose) but I'm planning on doing
something similar for for myself with apt-move.
After creating my local repo, I'll just burn it to DVD. Right now there
is about 1.7 GB of files in /var/cache/apt/archives so it would easily
fit on a single DVD.
