i downloaded 'drivers' from
http://software.canon-europe.com/software/canon_capt_printer_driver_for_linuxs21386.asp?mode
l= where canon has the audacity to declare that they have provided linux
drivers when all they offer is a couple of *.rpms. anyway you can
convert the rpms to *.debs using alien.



install the packages using dpkg -i then run gnome-cups-manager to
install your printer. it will now be listed unlike before.



try printing a test page and let me know if it works. it didnt work for
me =o\ the solution cant be far away now and somebody knows the answer.
im not giving up on it for a while yet.
