print to pdf?

This is incorrect. -Firefox- doesn't print to PDF but that's because it
doesn't use the native Gnome print API. Breezy prints to PDF just fine.

Yep, this will convert your PostScript files into PDFs quite nicely. It
might also solve the OP's problem of not being able to use the native
Gnome print dialog's PDF option.
