gaim: Feature, almost everybody lacks

One should be able to see the active status of ones own messenger. Like if it is away, n/a or online.
Being able to join a network with a specific status would also be very useful. For example, I can not join ICQ in invisible status. I would want to do that, to exclude some people from seeing that I am actually online. Or that I WAS online, even if it was just for a second.
Setting up the status and seeing it in a list below would be a very useful feature.

I'd be glad to hear what kind of efforts are being made into this direction, if any.
