Wow, that's strange ! :-/
Jean, and now john, confirm the problem, and when I filed my bug report
yesterday http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=20969 , it was
instantly marked as a duplicate of a well known/identified problem,
which apparently doesn't only affect Mahjongg.

It's a wonder that it works on your machine... maybe you didn't do a
"clean" install of dapper ? Maybe you started from Warty or Hoary or
Breezy and then updated it to Dapper ? Or maybe this bug is doesn't show
on AMD64 or PPC machines or something.
Maybe you should file a bug about Mahjongg actually WORKING on your
machine, when it reallt shouldn't ?! LOL !! ;o)

Huuu, nope, never heard of that game, I can't see it in the Gnome menu.
Robert seems to suggest that it's a KDE game not a Gnome games, so I
will probably never see it in Ubuntu ;-)
I am not a gamer really anyway, I only play Mahjongg an hour a year or
so. The only other "game" (well, flight simulator more than a game
strictly speaking) I like to play, "X-plane", requires a 3D video card
to render the graphics of course, and since my on-board (nforce chipset)
Nvidia GeForce2 MX brings me nothing but troubles on Ubuntu, well I was
kinda forced to give up on 3D hence X-plane.
I have great hopes in this "open graphics" project, though, but
according to development plans, it will take them a year or so before
they can at last deliver their first video cards to end users.
But it's just as well, as this gives me time to save the dosh for the
card, and it gives time to the X-plane team to improve their simulator.

Okay, I found that game in Synaptic, I pulled tons of KDE libs (thank
God for broadband !), and the game appears to start without problems.
(I don't like the game though)
