It's a big deal considering that the individual was an Ubuntu newbie,
so it was hardly as obvious as that. Shipping a compiler of a version
different from what was used to build the kernel is certainly a
non-intuitive step, asking for forum posts about broken kernel
modules. People do still build those, y'know.
I just cannot agree that this was a good move. Make it available for
install from the repositories, but not the default.
