courier-imap

Hiya,

In breezy,  I've installed courier-imap to provide a local imap
server, and am trying to connect to it in Thunderbird.  However, it
won't let me log in.   If I telnet to localhost 143 the server
responds (though I don't log in) but authentication doesn't take place
properly when I try with thunderbird.

Is this a PAM-related problem?  What do I need to change so I can just
use my user password to login to courier-imap?
